Robert grew up watching his father build this business and was taught to save early and dream big. By 9 years old, he scraped together enough allowance money and revenue from lemonade stands to buy into his first mutual fund. Like many kids from New England, he had dreams of one day playing quarterback for the Patriots, but Tom Brady did a pretty good job instead.

He began his career in finance in 2004 and joined Granite Oak Private Wealth in 2009. He graduated with honors from the University of New Hampshire with a Bachelor of Science in finance and economics and completed an Advanced Study in Financial Planning at Merrimack College. Robert is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER^® professional and is fully licensed to provide his clients with the independent and objective advice they need and deserve.

Robert & his wife Lauren have two daughters, Ellie & Sadie and two dogs Teddy & Louie. The Walczak family enjoys spending time outdoors, traveling, and watching timeless Disney classics where they can sing all the songs. In his spare time, Robert enjoys training for various endurance events. He is a proud finisher of the Ironman Triathlon and the Boston Marathon.

He feels blessed beyond words to be part of a family business with such a great group of clients. Every day he draws great satisfaction from helping his clients protect what they have worked so hard to achieve.

Amanda Doherty

Office Manager

Amanda earned her master’s degree from the University of New Hampshire and spent 8 years working in elementary education. Teaching was her passion, and she learned firsthand the importance of patience, care, and trust. In 2017 she decided to join her family at Granite Oak Private Wealth. Amanda works hard to provide exceptional service every day and she enjoys being the main point of contact for all clients’ needs.

When Amanda is not working, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, coaching youth sports, and being active running, hiking, and snowboarding. Amanda and her husband, Kyle, have two sons, Jack & Luke, and their pet cat, Fiona.

Mark Tucker, CFA®

Chief Investment Officer

As Chief Investment Officer, Mark is responsible for the research coverage of all sectors in our portfolios as well as the day-to-day oversight and management of trading. He has extensive experience creating and managing equity and total portfolio strategies, in addition to managing taxable assets and developing strategies to minimize taxes with the opportunity to enhance returns.

He has over 23 years of investment experience and 19 years of discretionary portfolio management experience. Most recently Mark managed over $1 billion in high-net-worth client portfolios comprised of individual equities, fixed income securities, exchanged traded funds and mutual funds.

Mark is a holder of the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation, receiving his charter in 2005. A Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) charter is a designation given to those who have completed the CFA® Program and completed acceptable work experience requirements. The CFA® Program is a three-part exam that tests the fundamentals of investment tools, valuing assets, portfolio management, and wealth planning.

David serves as Co-Chief Investment Officer, developing fixed-income strategies. He specializes in fixed-income trading and portfolio implementation, high-level analytics, closed-end fund research and trading. He has worked in the industry for over 25 years and has been a featured speaker at numerous conferences, sharing his expertise and articulating the firm’s strategies to a wide variety of audiences.

Chief Marketing Officer

Heather loves all things marketing and business with over 20+ years of experience. She has been involved on many projects throughout the U.S. including the division 1 Football rollout at Kennesaw State University, Cobb Home of the Braves, along with many other local and national marketing projects. She graduated with her B.A from Kennesaw State University in 2001 and completed her MBA, December 2016 from Kennesaw State University. She was accepted into the Doctorate program at KSU in 2017. After studying in Cuba April 2015, Ms. Pennington wrote a white paper on How US Companies Should Approach Marketing in Cuba Post Embargo and was awarded a Global Engagement Certification for her work. She joined Granite Oak Private Wealth as the Chief Marketing Officer and has two children, her daughter 25 and son who is 20.

Bob Walczak

Retired Founder

Bob started in the financial services industry back in 1988 when you could still knock on doors and cold call people. He worked over 30 years as an independent advisor, building relationships with clients who also became his friends.

After many years working alongside his children, Bob now enjoys the same lifestyle he helped so many clients achieve. He and his wife Shelly spend winter months in St. Petersburg, FL and enjoy golfing, traveling, and spending time with their four grandchildren as Papa & Gigi.

Teddy

Director of Dogs

While he may not participate in financial decisions, Teddy is a valued team member and has been named employee of the month, every month, for the last eight years. He recently turned 12, but still looks and acts like a puppy. He is 13 pounds of hypoallergenic hair and love.

Teddy used to spend most days at the office, making our clients and staff feel more at home. Now on a paid leave of absence, he spends most days at home, barking at squirrels. He loves peanut butter and squeaky toys, as well as long walks to anywhere. Teddy oversees the leadership development program of other office dogs.

Louie

Intern (Fully Remote)

Louie joined as an intern in December 2021, but was laid off shortly thereafter. Through some kind of glitch in the payroll department, he still receives a paycheck. Louie has never been to the office and has no plans of doing so. His ears are very large.
