Thank you to my Dad
Over a decade ago, I officially joined the business I had grown up watching my father build. Without his decision to pursue a dream 30+ years ago I wouldn’t have this opportunity.
My dad was a former truck driver and roofer and we almost lost him when I was very young. He fell over 40 feet at a job site leaving him in critical condition. My only memory is visiting him in the hospital and asking him if I could eat the Snickers bar next to his bed.
My dad decided to change careers and become a financial planner. He had no college education, two young children, no health insurance, and no clients. He had every reason to be afraid, but he never quit.
Growing up watching my dad I learned that there’s no greater illusion than fear. If you can wrestle your fear to push you from behind rather than stand in front of you, the sky is the limit.
As a father now myself, I hope I’m able to instill in my children the same principles my dad taught me. It’s ok to be afraid, but don’t let that fear stop you from trying and don’t let anyone ever tell you that you can’t do something.
Thanks Dad. – Robert
